These trousers are inspired by a jacket, circa 1928, embroidered with flowers in the Egyptian Revival style, an aesthetic trend popular in America in the 1920s.
The Egyptian Revival, or "Egyptomania," as it was called at the time, was fanned by archaeological discoveries throughout the decade, especially of the tomb of Tutankhamen in 1922. We reproduced the chain-stitched embroidery of the original piece along the hem of these trousers.
